Ariocarpus is a small and unique cactus that has a beautiful flat rosette. It has greyish-green bodies and triangular tubercules with overlapping leaves and wrinkles on the surface of the leaves and is commonly known as a Living Rock. The plant has a woolly structure with pink or yellow flowers that will bloom as it ages.
It thrives in full sun to partial shades and well-drained soil mix. Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot. Ariocarpus is a great addition to your collection of plants, especially if you have it displayed in a beautiful pot.
The easiest way to propagate them is via seeds and cuttings. It is native to Mexico and Texas, where they grow in soil rich in limestone mix. You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zones 9-11.
