You will receive one LIVE Maranta Red ‘Prayer Plant’ Maranta leuconeura, potted in a 3 or 4″ tall pot with soil.
A low-growing evergreen perennial native to Brazil, is often grown in hanging baskets and as a ground cover in atriums and shopping mall planters. You can grow red prayer plant cultivars as ground cover outdoors in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 10b and 11. Grow red prayer plants in bright indoor light. Avoid putting them in direct sun. Too much sun will fade the leaf colors. Keep the soil consistently moist when the plants are growing actively in spring and summer but reduce water from fall through late winter.
Sunlight: Bright, indirect light but too much sun will burn the leaves.
Water: Keep the soil generally moist. Okay to let top inch dry out sometimes.
*Only use rain or distilled water. Leaves are sensitive to chemicals that are commonly found in tap water.
Humidity: Requires extra humidity.
This plant can grow quickly under the correct conditions.
NOTE: For the live plants orders we ship on Monday – Wed only to prevent the live plants from sitting over the weekend before delivery.
PLANTS ARE NOT PERFECT! While we try our best to make sure every plant looks amazing, it is possible that a small burn spot or tiny hole may be present. We do grow our plants organically and some are grown outside, so its possible for nature to make a small imperfection.
We are bee and butterfly friendly nursery. We use minimal spraying and as much natural means to take care of our pests as much as possible. You might get few holes on leaves, it’s normal the plant won’t die.
