Tropical cacti- Rhipsalis is a family of epiphytic cacti native to Central and South America. There are over 35 different species with various types of shapes. There are also other genera that are closely related to rhipsalis and some that are not that grow under similar conditions such as Lepismiums and Cynanchum that will be listed here. Tropical cacti are epiphytic and are found in the understory of trees, they prefer bright, indirect light and can tolerate direct morning and evening light. The best place to put it is at least a few feet removed from a window, but and they are extremely hardy plants. It can subsist on minimal light for extended periods, especially with some low grade fertilizer. For this reason is the plant of choice to grow indoor at home or office. Their media is a mixture of cactus mix plus a bit extra of organic, they like to stay moist but not wet all the time, water when is nearly dry.
